
Municipal Election 2010
The Council and Information Services Department of the Township of Woolwich is responsible for conducting the Municipal Election.
The next election will occur on October 25, 2010. The deadline for filing nominations is September 10, 2010 at 2pm. For information on the nomination process click here.
Qualifications for Municipal Office
A candidate for municipal office must, upon nomination, be a qualified municipal elector and fulfill all of the following requirements:
Note: A candidate, if nominated, must remain qualified throughout the election and, if elected, throughout the term of office. School board candidates should confirm that they have the qualifications described in s.219 of the Education Act.
Persons Not Eligible
The following persons are or may be disqualified from being elected to municipal office:
Note: Despite the above disqualification, MPs, MPPs and Senators may be nominated for municipal office without having to resign their current seat in Parliament. However, by 2:00 pm on Friday, September 10, 2009 (nomination day), MPs, MPPs and Senators are required to resign their current seat should they wish to continue to seek municipal office.
Offices to be Elected

Regional Chair, Regional Muncipality of Waterloo | 1 (one) to be elected at large between the Cities of Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo and the Townships of North Dumfries, Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich. |

| Separate School Trustee (French) | 1 (one) to be elected for the entire geographic area of the Region of Waterloo, the County of Brant, the County of Haldimand - Norfolk and the County of Wellington. (Nominations are accepted at the City of Kitchener) |
| Public School Trustee (French) | 1 (one) to be elected for the entire geographic area of the Region of Waterloo, the County of Middlesex, the County of Perth, the County of Wellington and the County of Huron. (Nominations are accepted at the City of London) |

Residents are encouraged to contact the Council and Information Services Department (519) 669-1647 to see if their name is on the Voter's List. Residents are also encouraged to contact the Council and Information Services Department to determine if they will receive a Fluoride Question ballot. If your name is not on the Voter's List, or if the information is incorrect, applications are available to have your name added or your information corrected at the Township Office (staff at extensions 6006, 6009, 6021 can assist you).
