Council Meetings

The Council of the Township of Woolwich meets in the Council Chambers located at 24 Church Street West, Elmira.

 Generally, all delegations are heard at Committee meetings rather than Council meetings.

Persons wishing to appear before a regular meeting of Council or Committee shall notify the Council and Information Services no later than 5:00 p.m. on the Thursday preceding the meeting.  In the case of Council meetings only, a person may register for the revised Council agenda by 12:00 noon on the day of the Council meeting.

Speaking to Council

Unless Council or Committee otherwise gives permission, no person shall be permitted to address Council or Committee for longer than ten minutes.  Where a delegation consists of an organized group of five or more people, two people may address Council or Committee, in which event each person shall be limited to speaking for ten minutes.

If you wish to distribute handout materials at the meeting, you should provide a minimum of 16 copies to the Recording Secretary for distribution. If you wish to have materials delivered to Council in the meeting package please have these to the Council and Information Services no later than the Wednesday preceding the meeting.

A person not registered as a delegation may address Council or Committee by a motion from Council or Committee.

Audio-Visual Presentations

Delegations requiring audio or video aids should arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the meeting.  If you have equipment to set up, you can arrange an earlier arrival time by calling 519-669-1647 Extension 6009 or 6005. Our Council Chambers is equipped with a projector, LCD television, document camera and laptop.

All meetings are open to the public, unless otherwise permitted to be closed under the Municipal Act.
