THE TOWNSHIP OF WOOLWICH, with a population of 20,500 people and neighbouring the Cities of Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge in the Region of Waterloo, has the following positions available: 

VOLUNTEER FIRE-FIGHTERS NEEDED

The Township of Woolwich is accepting applications for Volunteer Fire-fighters for the Conestogo, Elmira, Flordale, Maryhill, St. Jacobs and the new proposed Breslau Station.

The rewards of being a volunteer fire-fighter are extensive. The work is exciting and challenging. Responsibilities include; fire suppression duties necessary to save life and property; combat, extinguish and/or prevent fires by rapidly and efficiently performing varied duties as required under emergency conditions; provide emergency medical response and aid; perform rescue/extrication operations where necessary to prevent loss of life or further injury; and provide service assistance with respect to, the police, paramedics and public.

All applicants must be 18 years or older at time of application and have obtained their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (grade 12 OSSD) or equivalent at time of application. Applicants must have a valid G2 Ontario driver's license at time of application.

Applicants must live within the "primary response area" of the station of choice, approximately 8 km and within a 5 minute drive.  

If you do not live within the primary response area, your application will be rejected.
