Grand River Transit (GRT) Bus Route 21

Bus Route 21 started as a pilot service on April 6, 2009, and was the first rural GRT bus route to provide public transit to a Township in the Region of Waterloo. On April 10, 2010, Regional Council extended the pilot service for an additional year, and, following a presentation to Woolwich Council on February 22, 2011, the pilot service was extended until the end of 2011.

Public Open House, June 7, 2011

On June 7, 2011, Township Staff collaborated with Regional GRT Staff to hold a Public Open House to obtain feedback from the community. The Route 21 Open House was held at the Woolwich Memorial Centre in Elmira from 7pm - 9pm. The first part of the evening provided people with the opportunity to pick up Comment Forms and the Information Package, review the route maps posted around the room, and speak with Staff (Township and Region), and Township Councillors. A presentation and question and answer period followed, providing community members with more opportunities to ask questions.

Presentation of Feedback, August 2, 2011

On August 2, 2011, Township Staff presented a summary of the feedback received about GRT Route 21 to Committee of the Whole.

Presentation of Recommendation Report, August 30, 2011

On August 30, 2011, Township Staff will present a recommendations report to Committee of the Whole for their consideration. Council's comments will then be forwarded to the Region for their consideration prior to Regional Council's decision about Route 21 on September 27, 2011.
