Inspections are required during the construction of your project to ensure that all work is done in compliance with the permit plans and the Building Code.  Inspection stages are outlined in a summary document called "Notice to Permit Holder" provided to you at the time the permit is issued.

It is the responsibility of the homeowner to ensure that they or their contractor contact the Township to request an inspection at the readiness for an inspection or upon the substantial completion of a stage of construction as set out in the Ontario Building Code. Please call the Building Official to request a building inspection appointment. You must provide the Building Official two (2) days notice of your readiness or of the substantial completion of the stage of construction.

Typical inspections for buildings and structures are:

  • Services
  • Foundation
  • Framing
  • Heating - rough in
  • Plumbing - rough in
  • Insulation
  • Final
  • Occupancy
