
1. Submit your application with supporting information, including two sets of building plans and two site plans, to the building department.
2. Your application is reviewed for completeness and compliance with local zoning by-laws, the Ontario Building Code and other applicable legislation.
3. A decision is made to approve or refuse your application. If your application is denied for technical reasons, appeals may be made to the Building Code Commission.
4. You are called to pick up any approved permits, and informed of the fee
5. Pick up permit and pay fee.
6. Start work and call for inspections as required
7. A building inspector then checks major phases of construction from start to finish.
8. Construction is then completed.
