Parking Tickets

What do I do if I get a parking ticket?
Parking tickets issued pursuant to any of the parking by-laws may be paid at the Township Office or by mail, 24 Church Street West, P.O. Box 158, Elmira, ON N3B 2Z6.  If a trial is requested for a parking violation Provincial Offences Court is responsible for setting trial dates.

General Traffic and Parking By-law # 45-2002

This by-law regulates parking on the municipal roads. The Township of Woolwich also enforces parking on roads designated as regional under the Region of Waterloo Traffic and Parking By-law # 00-032. 

Private Parking Lot By-law # 34-89

This by-law regulates parking on privately owned parking lots within the Township.  Either the Municipal Law Enforcement Officer or the Waterloo Regional Police Service (or by phone at 570-3000 or 653-7700) dispatch have authority under this by-law to issue parking tickets upon written permission of the owner of the lot.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service has the authority to tow vehicles off private parking lots, with written permission.  Signs indicating a private lot and the by-law number must be clearly posted and visible.
