Kate's Kause, Inclusive Playground Project at Gibson Park 17 First St. Elmira

A $300,000, community build & funded accessible playground has taken shape and was completed in early July 2012, with the Grand Opening taking place September 27. Thanks to Community Sponsors and initiatives of Kelly Meisner this inclusive playground for kids of all abilities is reality, with hopes to add a sensory board in the future.

Facility Development

The year 2007 was a year of transition for the Township in terms of facility development. The Maryhill Community Centre was constructed and opened for the community in October. Meanwhile, designs were completed, tenders called and contracts awarded for the following projects:

The community's role in this development plan has been widespread-throughout the various stages of design and certainly in an incredible fundraising campaign. The fundraising goal of $5.6 million is nearing completion. The community involvement has provided Council with the comfort level of knowing the community is firmly behind these projects, while also augmenting the financial resources needed to bring all projects to completion.
