The Township of Woolwich is blessed with many volunteer organizations that provide services above and beyond those from the Township. All minor sport organizations are run autonomously from the Township and depend on a core of dedicated volunteers to provide that service or program.
Throughout the Township, six Recreation Associations operate Township parks and facilities on behalf of the Township for the residents of specific settlement areas. Many of these Associations have been in existence for decades, some with a history dating back to the 1950s. Parks with ball diamonds, play equipment, tennis courts, picnic pavilions, recreation centres and more recently, soccer pitches, have been developed in cooperation with the Township through the efforts of the citizens of those settlements.
