Woolwich Memorial Centre
The Woolwich Memorial Centre (WMC) at 24 Snyder Avenue South in Elmira, built in 2009 is the Township's newest state-of-the-art facility comprised of two NHL-sized ice surfaces, two pools, a fitness centre and walking track.
The facility also includes a community centre, seniors centre, youth centre, concession, Concourse Cafe, two meeting rooms and offices for minor sport teams. For more information click on the links below.
On Monday January 18, 2016 Council of the Township of Woolwich passed a Smoke Free Policy which states that smoking cannot occur within 10 m of an entrance or exit or on a pathway or walkway to a facility. This means that all walkways and sidewalks leading from the parking lots to the WMC entrances are smoke free. Facilities staff are working to set up smoking areas for patrons of the facilities who wish to smoke.

The WMC Track is located on the second floor of the Woolwich Memorial Centre. The WMC track is open to all social walkers & runners. Please NO skateboards, heels or in-line skates.
Attention WMC Track Users. We have made changes to the Track to better accommodate all of our Users.
Fast Lane & Slow Lane lines have been added to allow for more flexible use. Slow users are asked to use the inside lane while faster users are asked to use the outside lane. Fast and Slow lane users will face each other to assist with safety & courtesy in use of the track.
Hours of Operation
The walking track will be open the following hours:
Daily: 6:00 am to 10:00 pm
The walking track will be closed during ticketed events.
The track runs a distance of 202 metres along the inside and 224 metres along the outside.
- Inside (SLOW) lane : 202 m 5 laps around the inside lane = 1 km, or 8 laps = 1 mile
- Outside (FAST) lane: 224m 4.5 laps around the outside lane = 1 km, or 7 laps = 1 mile
- Children 10 and under must be supervised.
- No poles, heels, skateboards, Heely's or In- Line Skates

The Township of Woolwich has teamed up with Woolwich Community Services to provide affordable access to provide adults 18 years of age and older, living with a low income in Woolwich Township, free access to Township funded recreation programs
Participants will complete a brief application at the Woolwich Community Services Office located at 73 Arthur St. Elmira, Mon to Fri. 9am-5pm. Confirmation of household income and Township residency will be required. The application will be confidential and submitted to senior township recreation staff for processing.
Depending on the interests of the indiviual a 10 visit pass for the activity of their choice will be issued. Passes will be issued one at a time, and can be reissued every 10 weeks providing one actvity per week. To reissue the application participants would visit Woolwich Community Services to confirm their continued elegibility.
This co-operative program helps further the goals of both Woolwich Township and Woolwich community Services in
- building a safe, supportive community
- providing opportunities and resources for all
- promoting full participation in all recreational and cultural programs regardless of financial circumstances.

Woolwich Community Guide Advertising
Showcase your organization or business through an advertisement in the new Woolwich Community Guide! We've produced three editions and are already planning for the 2013/2014 Fall & Winter guide. The guide is on the Township website, and 12,000 copies are produced twice annually and distributed throughout the Township and surrounding area. Guides can be picked up at several locations throughout the Township like schools, libraries, businesses, Township Administration Office in Elmira, the Woolwich Memorial Centre (WMC) in Elmira, the Township Arena in St. Jacobs (WTA), and the Breslau Community Centre.
