March 11, 2021 - Area Townships collaborate with rural community support agencies to form the Rural Recovery Coordinating Committee

March 11, 2021 - Following the start of the pandemic, the Townships of North Dumfries, Wellesley, Wilmot, and Woolwich came together virtually with rural community support agencies to form the Rural Recovery Coordinating Committee.

March 10, 2021 - Community plan to reduce Waterloo Region’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions up for comment

March 10, 2021 - Waterloo Region – ClimateActionWR, a local collaborative of all municipalities and environmental non-profit groups Reep Green Solutions and Sustainable Waterloo Region, are partnering to lead the region to reduce GHG emissions by 80 per cent by 2050 through a plan called TransformWR. It will be available for public input starting today on engagewr.ca.

March 8, 2021 - Downtown Elmira BIA works with Township of Woolwich to release Call to Artists

March 8, 2021 – The Downtown Elmira BIA and Township of Woolwich released a Call Out to Artists to submit visual artwork for the Elmira Art Exhibit (EAE) – an outdoor art project that aims to positively impact both the arts and culture industry and local business community, by bringing ten pieces of public art to the downtown.

 September 19, 2020 - Woolwich Township Mill Race Trail Partially Re-Open

September 19, 2020 - The Mill Race Trail is owned by the Grand River Conservation Authority and a private landowner with The Township of Woolwich managing the trail through a maintenance agreement. The Mill Race Trail is now partially reopened to trail users.

July 20, 2020 - With the recent precipitation that has been received, the Townships of North Dumfries, Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich are lifting the open air permit burn ban that came into effect July 4, 2020.

July 16, 2020 - Mill Street, Elmira Temporary Community Patio 

July 16, 2020 - To further support businesses in the downtowns, the Township of Woolwich has closed Mill Street, in Elmira, from Arthur Street to the rear parking lot entrance of TD Canada Trust to provide additional communal seating and a separate patio space for the Sip ‘N Bite restaurant.

Woolwich Township Asks Property Owners to Avoid On-Street Parking for 48 Hours

Please be advised that the Township of Woolwich has cancelled tonight’s February 12th Council meeting due to severe winter weather. The Township of Woolwich also requests that all property owners avoid parking their vehicles on the street for the next 48 hours to allow snow removal crews to get through their routes as quickly as possible. View the full media release.
