Fitness Centre Schedule

The Fitness Centre is open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily.

Fall Schedule

This schedule runs September 3 2019 - January 3, 2020. 

There will be no classes on the following dates:

 Aquafit

Please note: The pool will be closed from September 1st to 15th 2019, inclusive. 
Work out in the low-impact pool environment. This full body water workout, is for anyone, especially those with joint injuries or ailments. This class is taught in the lap pool.

Mondays: 9:00-9:45am, 8:05-8:50pm

Tuesdays: 7:35-8:20pm

Wednesdays: 9:00-9:45am, 8:05-8:50pm

Thursdays: 9:00-9:45am, 7:35-8:20pm

Fridays: 9:00-9:45am

AquaMat Aquatic Fitness

Join us in (on!) the pool for this fun floating aquafit class. Participants stand, sit and move on floating mats in the pool while participating in yoga, cardio and conditioning classes.  Spots are limited, preregistration is required. This class is FREE for WMC Fitness Members!

AquaZumba

Please note: The pool will be closed from September 1st to 15th 2019, inclusive. 
Aqua Zumba blends the Zumba philosophy with water resistance, for one pool party you shouldn’t miss! This class is taught in the lap pool.

Tuesdays: 9:00-9:45am

Bootcamp

Variety of free weights and body weight exercises targeting fat loss, muscle building and aerobic fitness, moving from one exercise to another while keeping the heart rate at an increased level, generally working all muscle groups.

Mondays: 6:30-7:15am

Core Strengthening

This 30 minute core intensive class is designed to burn out the abs in a short intensive class. Finish off your spin workout with the class, or add it in as part of your Saturday morning routine.

Saturdays: 9:15-9:45am*

Gentle Aquafit

A low impact class designed to help increase mobility and strength. This class is taught in the leisure pool.

Tuesdays: 1:30-2:30pm (December 10 and 17 from 10:00-11:00am)

Fridays: 10:00-11:00am

Gentle Yoga

A gentle yoga class designed to increase strength, balance and flexibility. This accessible class focuses on mind and body.

Wednesdays: 8:30-9:15am

The Great Brain Workout

Dispel some of the negative myths of aging. Learn how best to maintain cognitive health throughout a lifetime.  Bring runners and a sense of humour! You're going to be thinking on your feet.

Fridays: 9:45-10:45am, 11:00am-12:00pm

September 20 - December 13, 2019

No program November 15

Interval Training

This class focuses on a combination of cardiovascular endurance as well as strength training. It is taught as an interval type class using skipping (jump rope) in short period segments with resistance training in between each skipping segment. This class covers all fitness components giving you a great all around workout.

Wednesdays: 6:00-6:45pm

Fridays: 6:30-7:15am

Kettlebell Intervals

An interval class, focused on the use of kettlebells for weight training purposes. 

Saturdays: 9:45-10:30am*

Masters Swimming: Fitness & Triathlon Swim

A program for individuals seeking a gym alternative for fitness through swim training. The program is designed to enhance competitive swimming abilities, stroke techniques and personal fitness. Workouts range from high intensity interval training to endurance training. Coaches create workouts that will meet swimmers' individual and collective needs. Some swimming ability and knowledge of how to swim a workout, including pace times, in recommended. 

Tuesdays: 8:30-10:00pm

Thursdays: 8:30-10:00pm

Saturdays: 7:00-8:30am

This is a registered program.

Mommy/Daddy & Me Fitness

Improve your fitness with other new parents while your child safely watches from their carrier. You will be guided through body conditioning exercises, leaving you feeling energized for the day! Join us after the class in the warm leisure pool for water time.

Mondays: 10:00-10:45am 

October 21 - December 9, 2019

Osteoporosis/BoneFit

A safe exercise program, aimed at helping you stay healthy and reduce the risk of fractures!

Mondays: 9:00-9:50am

September 16 - December 16

No program October 14

Parent & Tot Aquafit

An aquafit class for parents, and splash time for kids! This program is designed for children 6 months - 3 years, who can support their heads independently. Children will be seated in floatation seats that remain in direct contact with the parent.

Tuesdays: 10:00-10:30am

Thursdays: 1:00-1:30pm

September 17 - Dec 19 2019

 Pickleball

A paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn. Get active, meet people and have fun! This is an informal game of Pickleball, played in the Community Centre.

Mondays: 1:00-3:00pm; 8:00-9:30pm

Wednesdays: 10:30am-12:00pm; 1:00-3:00pm

Fridays: 1:00-3:00pm

September 4 - December 27, 2019

Periodic cancellations. Please check the Recreation Calendar for dates.

 

Pickleball is also booked at Riverside School, coordinated by volunteers. $5.00 cash per visit.

Thursdays: 8:00-9:30pm (September 26 - December 19)

 Pilates & Pilates Fusion

Muscle toning exercises through body weighted movements, increasing strength throughout the core.

Wednesdays: 7:00-7:45pm

Thursdays: 7:00-7:45pm

Restorative Yoga

This calming class is an express form of restorative yoga which consists of longer and more supportive stretches to get into the deeper fibers of the muscle. 

Fridays: 12:15-12:45pm

Skip & Boxing

Boxing is great for the body and the mind - we're talking stress relief here! Charlotte will lead you through a 45-minute workout that mixes high-intensity conditioning, boxing, kickboxing, and body-weight strength-training moves  that all focus on the core, add in some skipping intervals and get ready to burn some mega calories!  If you are new to working out, we offer modifications for almost every move. Grab a towel and a bottle of water, and get ready to get cut!

Wednesdays: 6:30-7:15am

Spin

Spin (cycling) focuses on endurance, strength, intervals, hills, higher intensity and recovery, burning calories and strengthening your lower body.

Tuesdays: 6:30-7:15am

Thursdays: 6:30-7:15am

Saturdays: 8:30-9:15am*

 Step

 A classic cardio workout using a step platform designed to get your heart rate up while still having fun.

Tuesdays: 6:00-6:45pm

Tai Chi

Meditate in motion through slow, graceful, flowing postures and breathing exercises. Reduce stress and enhance strength and coordination. Leave feeling peaceful, relaxed and energized!

Tuesdays: 12:15-1:00pm

Thursdays: 10:00-11:00am

Yoga

Different sequences and challenging vinyasas to help improve you strength, flexibility and muscle balance while targeting your core muscle group.

 Yoga Flow
This class is designed to build a strong Yoga practice through traditional poses & mindful movement.  Release your tensions and unwind through this all levels flow class. 

Mondays: 6:00-6:45pm

 Zumba

Zumba features aerobic interval training with fast and slow rhythms that sculpts the body with high energy and motivating music that allow participants to dance away their stress and worries. This is an all round FUN class!

Mondays: 7:00-7:45pm

Thursdays: 6:00-6:45pm
