Volunteering
Anyone can volunteer on a campaign for a candidate in a municipal election. Contact the candidate you wish to help and see what kind of volunteer help they need.
Campaign Contributions
Campaign contributions are strictly regulated and both the candidate and the person making the contribution need to pay careful attention to the rules and contribution limits.

How to Contribute |

Contributions up to $25 may be made in cash. Contributions more than $25 must associate the contributor’s name and account with the payment. Donations over $100 are subject to public disclosure through the Candidate's financial statements. Woolwich Township does not issue contribution rebates. If you want to make a contribution to a Candidate, contact them to see how they wish to receive the contribution. |
Scrutineers
Scrutineers volunteer for a candidate to observe voting and other processes to verify the integrity of the election. The Candidate must appoint you as a scrutineer by completing a form in the Clerk's Office.
Being a scrutineer has additional responsibilities. See the 2022 Municipal Election Procedures for more information.
Election Advertising and Campaigning
Candidates cannot start campaigning, campaign advertising, spending money, or accepting contributions (including money, goods, or services) until they file their nomination papers with the Clerk.
Many candidates offer lawn signs for individuals to show their support. Contact the candidates you are supporting to see if they have lawn signs. You are not obligated to put a lawn sign on your property. If a lawn sign is put on your property without your permission, check with others living with you to see if they requested it or call the candidate to have it removed.
No one can damage lawn signs on someone else’s property. You may report damage to By-law Enforcement.
For more information see the 2022 Municipal Election Procedures.
