Elmira is a charming, quaint, tight-knit community with strong Mennonite roots. The downtown core holds many local businesses and eateries that bring vibrancy to the community. Since 1965, Elmira has been home to the Elmira Maple Syrup Festival which draws a crowd of over 60,000 each spring!

The Village of St. Jacobs is located just outside of Waterloo, along the Conestoga River. It has a rich heritage and is home to the original Home Hardware which was founded in 1964. St. Jacobs is a popular tourist destination due to its rich Mennonite heritage and unique village feel.

The St. Jacobs Market District is home to the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market, the largest year-round indoor/outdoor farmers’ market in Canada. Established in 1975 and one of the Region of Waterloo’s most beloved attractions, the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market welcomes more than one million visitors each year.
