Woolwich Way Tourism Funding Streams

The Township of Woolwich has developed two funding streams to reinvest funds into the local tourism industry. These funding streams were designed to support the growth, innovation, and sustainability of the local tourism economy.
The Woolwich Way – Destination Development Fund
Up to $4,000 in funding available | 15% applicant contribution required
The Woolwich Way – Destination Development Fund supports local businesses and organizations in creating or enhancing tourism products that showcase Woolwich as a vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive destination.
Whether you're launching a new walking tour, creating a culinary experience, or building a cultural program, this fund can help you develop visitor experiences that are done “the Woolwich Way.”
Project Eligibility:
- Be achievable within the calendar year of the year the fund is applied for.
- Reach 30% visitor demographics for the program, project, or event.
- Develop or enhance tourism products.
Eligible Projects May Include, but are not limited to:
- Walking tours
- Culinary experiences/tours
- Art and culture experiences
- Virtual reality experiences
- Festival or event development
- Shoulder season experiences
- Tourism product packaging
The Woolwich Way – Marketing Material Fund
Up to $1,500 in funding available | 50% applicant matching required
The Woolwich Way – Marketing Material Fund supports the creation or enhancement of marketing materials that help promote tourism experiences in Woolwich to visitors from outside the region. If you're planning a new visitor map, signage, or printed piece that supports an experience then this fund is for you.
Project Eligibility:
- Be achievable within the calendar year of the year the fund is applied for.
- Develop or enhance tourism products.
- Create new marketing materials OR update previously used marketing materials.
- Have a visitor as the primary target audience for the specific material.
Eligible Projects May Include, but are not limited to:
- Visitor maps showcasing experiences
- Event-based materials that connect experiences or showcase community experiences
- Materials to enhance an existing experience
- Passport programs for events or experiences
- Banners or other signage specifically targeting visitors and promoting an experience

Reporting and Follow-Up
All successful applicants must submit:
· Proof of matched contributions (bank statements, receipts, etc.)
· Receipts and invoices detailing how funds were spent
· Summary of tourism impact: visitor reach, overnight stays, local partnerships, community feedback
· Optional: success stories, testimonials, photos
Incomplete reporting may result in forfeiture of funds.
How to Apply
Applications for both programs will be accepted online or in written format (upon request) from August 5 to August 19, 2025.
