Interested in learning about programs and services available within the Township of Woolwich? Come out and visit representatives from almost every community organization to sign up or get more information on their programming and volunteer opportunities.

The holidays are about more than presents, of course. They’re also about spending quality time together with family and friends. We’re big fans of filling up that time with great experiences that will produce memories for a lifetime. Township program staff will be present at various community events hosting a cookie decorating and craft station.

Winter 2027

The National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) is an annual day of observance held during the first week of February to acknowledge the accomplishments of female athletes, recognize the influence of sports participation for women and girls, and honor the progress and continuing struggle for equality for women in sports. The Township of Woolwich hosts an annual event to educate and celebrate female athletes.

Summer 2026

June is Recreation and Parks Month (JRPM) is a movement that promotes the benefits of recreation and parks for physical, social, and environmental health. Communities across Ontario have embraced JRPM as a way to promote local programs and events, parks and facilities that are available for all citizens to enjoy.

Designed for beginners and casual players, this program offers hands-on instruction, skill development, and game play in a fun and supportive environment.

Tuesday June 2 10 - 10:45 am Drop-In Chair Yoga Maryhill Community Centre 

Ages 16+

Join our experienced instructor for this gentle yoga program. Using a chair, participants engage in a variety of movements including stretching, strengthening, breathing, and relaxation.

Wednesday June 3 3:30 - 5 pm Having Fun Isn't Hard When You Have A Library Card St. Jacobs Library Branch  A library card is a great way to build responsibility – and bring library joy to the whole family!

Already have a library card? Bring it along and make personalized buttons to decorate a brand-new lanyard and card holder. 

This drop-in program is for all ages! Lanyards are available while supplies last.

Come for the swim, stay for the songs. This is on-deck karaoke during public swims.

Participants must still PAY for public swim entry and follow our pool admittance policy.

Saturday June 6 9 - 9:45 am Stretch & Tone Fitness Class Woolwich Memorial Centre 

Ages 16+

Celebrate National Health & Fitness Day with FREE drop-in fitness programs at the Woolwich Memorial Centre. Join us for a Stretch and Tone class from 9-9:45am in the Community Centre Room.

Monday June 8 7:30 - 9 pm Drop-In Beginner Pickleball Breslau Community Centre 

Ages 18+

Join us for unstructured drop-in play at the Breslau Community Centre. All skill levels are welcome. Nets and balls provided, limited quantity of paddles available.

Wednesday June 10 9:30 - 11:30 am  Guided Hike Sandy Hills Pinery Trail  This two-hour hike offers a first-hand experience of the forest's natural beauty and varied ecosystems, accompanied by engaging discussions on topics such as the forthcoming updates to the Regional Forest Management Plan and their impact on ecology and conservation efforts.

Meeting location is 390 Sandy Hills Drive. From Elmira, take Arthur St. N. and turn right or east onto Sandy Hills Drive.  Travel approximately 1 km to the parking lot at 390 Sandy Hills Drive.  Map link below. https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1dHPHc5f86hPiP3BBcVH5PKTZIyyshKM&usp=sharing

Trail rating: Please prepare for outdoor weather over varied terrain. No strollers or dogs on this hike please. There is no rain date. Registration not required.

This is a level 2 (moderate) hike.  The speed is 3-4 km per hour (moderate).

Wednesday June 10  2:45 - 3:30 pm AquaMat  Woolwich Memorial Centre 

Ages 12+

Join us in (on!) the pool for this fun floating aquafit class! Participants stand, sit and move on tethered floating mats in the pool, while participating in yoga, cardio and conditioning. Spaces are limited, and preregistration is required.

Pickleball is tons of fun and easy to learn. Two options of play allow participants to learn and advance their skills while staying active and socializing with others in the community. No experience is necessary, everyone is welcome.

Ages 16+

Our Adult Paint in the Park Night is back for another year! Join our instructors at Gore Park to connect and create with members of our community. This is a beginner level program. Registration is required.

Wednesday June 17 6: 30 - 7:15 am Drop- In Pilates  Woolwich Memorial Centre

Ages 16+

In this class challenge your core like never before! Each class will flow through a series of timed and repeated exercises. All movements require you to use your own body weight while you move from open to closed chain exercises. This class is a great addition to your current workout routine allowing you to increase mobility and functional movement.
