Nearly 1,800 Electors Cast Ballots During First Three Days of Advance Voting in Woolwich

Woolwich, ON – Advance voting is off to a strong start in the Township of Woolwich, with 1,791 electors casting their ballots during the first three days of voting, compared to 947 during the same period in the 2022 Municipal Election. This represents an increase of approximately 89 per cent.

For the 2026 Municipal Election, the Township has provided additional opportunities for electors to cast their ballots in advance. Along with online voting, residents had the option to vote in person this past weekend at the Breslau Community Centre, St. Jacobs Fire Station and Woolwich Memorial Centre.

Feedback from voters has been positive, with many commenting on the convenience and ease of the advance voting process. After casting their ballot online, electors are presented with a survey that automatically appears on their screen, inviting them to share feedback about their voting experience. Several survey respondents noted that online voting made the voting process more accessible because of their disability. Positive feedback was also received from electors voting in person.

“I am very pleased with the participation we have seen during the first few days of advance voting,” said Township Clerk Jeff Smith. “Our goal is to make voting as accessible and convenient as possible by offering residents different ways to cast their ballots. The feedback we have received so far suggests voters appreciate having those choices. I also want to thank election workers who made advance voting a welcoming and easy experience this past weekend.”

Voting Day is Monday, October 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Electors can vote in person at any of the following locations:

  • Breslau Community Centre
  • St. Jacobs Fire Station
  • Woolwich Memorial Centre

Online voting remains available 24 hours a day until 8:00 p.m. on Voting Day.

Residents who require assistance with voting can contact the Township Administration Office at 519-669-6010 or request assistance at any voting location on Voting Day.
