Woolwich Lifts Open Burn Ban

WOOLWICH – The Township Fire Chief, has lifted the total open-air fire ban effective immediately following a significant improvement in air quality across the Township.

Residents may resume open-air burning in accordance with the Township’s applicable by-laws and regulations. Anyone planning to have an open-air fire is reminded to burn responsibly, never leave a fire unattended, and ensure it is fully extinguished before leaving the area.

While local conditions have improved, wildfire activity continues in parts of Ontario, and air quality can change quickly. Residents are encouraged to stay informed by monitoring local forecasts and current air quality conditions, particularly if they are sensitive to smoke or have underlying health conditions.

The Township of Woolwich thanks residents for their cooperation while the temporary fire ban was in effect. We will continue to monitor environmental conditions and provide updates as needed.
